What to Expect

How do I get started?Please give us a call at 847-250-0257 or send us a message on our contact us page. We will get back to you within 2 business days. You can then talk to Mia or Liesl for a free 15 minute consultation call to better understand your needs. Together, we will determine the best fit for a therapist as well as scheduling with your therapist to get you started!

What happens during the first session?The first session is an information gathering or intake session. For minor clients, we meet with their parent/s or guardian/s only for the first session, in order to allow enough time to get a full clinical picture.

Should parents/caregivers attend sessions?We appreciate parent involvement for children under twelve. For younger children especially, we like to check in with parents at the start and end of sessions to get updates and share information from session and/or skills that can be practiced at home. Older children can be dropped off or parents/guardians can relax in our waiting room during their sessions.

How often will sessions be?We recommend once a week therapy at the start to build a trusting relationship as well as to learn and implement skills. We fully believe that the therapeutic relationship along with consistency is what drives the progress!

How long are sessions?Sessions are 50 minutes.

Do you take insurance?We understand therapy is a financial commitment. We are an out-of-network provider, which allows us to offer the best care to you or your family member without limitations.

How do I get reimbursed?You will be sent monthly superbills, which can be submitted to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

How do I pay for sessions?Your therapist will set you up with an account through Simple Practice, where you will provide payment information (ie, HSA, credit card) that will be charged post sessions.

What is your fee for services?We discuss fees during initial phone calls. Clients can request an estimate for the total cost of services (Good Faith Estimate).
